Audio Conference Set for Managed Care Trends in 2003

MANASQUAN, NJ -- The meteoric rise in healthcare costs over the last several years shows no signs of abating in 2003. All the major consulting firms predict double-digit increases in healthcare premiums and point to a variety of culprits to blame.

A new audio conference, “Forecast: What’s Ahead For Managed Care In 2003,” is scheduled for Thursday, March 6, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. Eastern time to provide participants with insight into the issues affecting managed care today and expert analysis of what the future holds.

Peter Kongstvedt, M.D., Health/Managed Care Consulting Services of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Michael Taylor, principal of the Towers Perrin Boston office, and Scott Jacobson, vice president of managed care of MedicalEdge Healthcare Group, Inc. will provide the conference participants with information on:

  • The top managed care issues of the year ahead;
  • What the rapidly increasing costs of healthcare portends for MCOs and providers;
  • Implications for payors, providers and employers of increased cost-shifting;
  • Trends shaping changes in consumer behavior;
  • Managed care and changing employers strategies for health benefits;
  • The emerging popularity of consumer-driven healthcare; and
  • Analyzing purchaser reaction to escalating premium costs.

Who should participate: CEOs, chairman, hospital executives, government executives, government officials, vice president of operations, vice president of finance, business development, strategic planning, medical directors, director of sales and marketing, network services, and public relations executives.

By enrolling in this program, participants can enjoy significant savings -- No travel time or hassle; no hotel expenses. The registration fee also covers the entire organization’s site.

The program will be approximately 90 minutes including a 30-minute Question-and-Answer period.

Cost: $189 for “Early Bird” sign-ups before February 28 ($239 regular price).
