urvey Finds Most Healthcare Executives Say Their Company Performed Better in 1998
Manasquan, N.J. — About two out of every three healthcare executives that responded to a year-end, online survey conducted by The Managed Care Information Center (MCIC) said their company performed better in 1998 compared with 1997.# # #
The survey incorporated open-ended responses from more than 220 healthcare executives from across the nation. The survey's results are compiled in MCIC's "1999 Healthcare Industry Trends and Forecasts: Charting Your Way Into the New Millennium."
Of respondents that said their company's 1998 performance was better, almost 37 percent attributed the better performance to a "greater demand for services."
Respondents included executives in managed care organizations, hospitals, physician groups and organizations, industry associations, government agencies, educational institutions, healthcare technology companies and pharmaceutical companies.
When comparing responses by type of healthcare executive, pharmaceutical executives ranked first, with eight out of every 10 indicating their company performed better in 1998.
The survey also identified the respondents' top concerns for 1999, as well as the most important healthcare industry development for 1998.
